Car Registration
Over the years we’ve handled registration in different ways. With the turn out of nearly 500 cars at previous years’ events, we’ve streamlined the process so that you don’t have to worry about your classic overheating while others are taking their time to register!
The last two years’ registration seemed to go well so this year again you will present your pre-registration or pay for registration as you pull down Broadway and into the event area. You will receive a ticket and be asked to go park before coming back to register at our registration table, which will be identified when you pull in.
This should help to get you parked more efficiently and allow you to spend a little more time checking out the cars and enjoying your day, as you can register at any time from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pre-Register by clicking the banner at the bottom of this page. Print and fill out the form and send it to us.
Restrooms – Where can I Go?
There are public facilities for the men and ladies located on opposite sides of the Fire Station Area. You’ll also find additional port-a-potties set up near the Pavilion Stage Area for your convenience.
What is the Friday Night Cruise In all about?
The Friday Night Cruise-In is an Open-Class event, meaning if you have a vehicle newer than 1980, feel free to come check out the Friday night festivities. We do not organize a cruise route but sometimes local clubs or organizations like Cruisin’ Times Magazine will organize a cruise that ends at our event. The event starts around 5pm. Typically the first 100 cars on Friday receive a dash plaque and special awards from local celebrities or the committee awarded by personal preference like Mayor’s Choice, Chief’s Choice, etc. etc. This year the choice award will be a hand crafted award made by outstanding local craftsman Dave Borter.
Note: Saturday’s All-Day Event limits entry to vehicles 1980 or older.
Who Judges this thing?
Now in our 22nd year, we’ve settled on using professional judges. Our judges are selected from a list of professionals and given free reign to inspect your vehicles with no input from our committee. Judges sometimes split up the judging – one group may do the interior & paint, another may do the engine compartment, etc., so keep your doors unlocked and your hood and trunk open so your car gets the maximum amount of points. If your car is not accessible to the judges you might not be judged.
What is the Model Car & Truck Show?
The Model Car Show is for scaled down model cars and trucks. It is a great opportunity for youngsters and adults to participate even if they don’t have a full size car. Registration will be at the corner of Main & Broadway from 10 to noon with a cost of $1 per entry. There are two categories, Kit Models and Hand Made Models. For each category there are three age based classes based on the age of the constructor: 6 to 12 years old, 13 to 17 years old, and 18 and up. There will be an award for 1st through 3rd in each category and age group provided there is sufficient participation. The Model Car & Truck show is sponsored and conducted by the Sugarcreek Community Arts Council.
Who can I contact if I have an additional question?
For many years you’ve likely contacted Dick Lahm, one of our great event’s founders. While he is still involved, we encourage you to contact us directly via e-mail at: fab50sfling@yahoo.com or contact the Sugarcreek Information Center at 1-888-609-7592.
