Doo-wop, Motown and Good Old Rock 'n' Roll
At the Fabulous 50’s Fling, we provide our visitors with top-notch entertainment along with some of the best food and cars you’ve ever seen.
You will enjoy the music that helped to define the decade. We saw Elvis emerge along with Motown and Doo-wop music. Sock hops and poodle skirts were all the rage and jukeboxes helped to keep the local soda fountains flowing and deliver the latest music to those thirsty to hear it.
We do our best to capture that feeling during the second weekend of June. The 2009 fling was ranked by Cruisin’ Times Magazine as the Best Downtown Car Show of that year. The 2010 and 2011 flings were highly ranked in the same category. Apparently, we’re doing a good job of it.
Our featured performers in years past include Remember When, The BelAirs, Geez Cats, Eddie and the Edsels, Phil Dirt and the Dozers, Phil n the Blanks and other authentic 50s acts. These groups can perform spot-on renditions of some of the classics that will transport you back in time, as well as keep the crowd involved if they’re not out surveying the iron and chrome that make the Fabulous 50s Fling at Sugarcreek so appealing.
This year we will be featuring The BelAirs (starting around 11:30), and The John Hampu Band (starting around 3:30), we promise you will not be disappointed!
